As a songwriter, Mark Wilkinson has an innate ability of tapping into the swift currents of pain, hope, and desire that flow just below the surface of our daily lives, giving voice to the unspoken passions and anxieties that at once terrify and excite us. As our daily lives take on a “new normal” Mark has turned his talent to penning ‘We’re Not Alone’, out now, it’s a song of hope and optimism, a song to remind us that we’re all on this together.

“I wrote ‘We're Not Alone’ just as COVID-19 really started to take hold here in Australia. The song was very much a reaction to and a reflection of the emotions the situation evoked in me. Along with the obvious anxiety and uncertainty driven by the pandemic, I was struck by the fact that in a backwards kind of way, despite having to isolate ourselves, the circumstances had truly united the world. I wanted to try and write a song that celebrated the world's resilience and unity in the face of the many challenges brought about by the pandemic.”

Now as restrictions ease and live music returns, Mark is excited to announce the ‘We're Not Alone’ single tour - an intimate series of shows, staged in COVID-Safe rooms to a very limited audience. Just Mark and his guitar, these will be special nights to both forge new connections with the uninitiated and renew connections of old. In the end, that’s what Mark’s music is all about. Raw and evocative, his songs quietly burrow their way into your heart, tapping into the swift currents of pain, hope, and desire that flow just below the surface of our daily lives, giving voice to the unspoken passions and anxieties that at once terrify and excite us. For too long now our days have been given to isolation and unease, but on these nights, through these performances, music can be a conduit of connection and catharsis.
